FPA Accreditation

On July 1st, 2020, the fire protection industry underwent a dramatic change when the NSW state government introduced new legislation redefining what it means to be a Competent Fire Safety Inspector. In essence, only those fire practitioners who have passed the Fire Safety Assessment (FSA) exams exclusively under the auspices of the Fire Protection Association, Australia (FPA) will be accredited to sign off on Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSSs).

The Fire Safety Assessment (FSA) class of FPAS accreditation alone accredits individuals who undertake assessment of the performance capability of fire safety measures (FSMs) for the purpose of informing an annual or supplementary fire safety statement.

FIRECHEX is well prepared for these changes. Our technicians have completed, or are in the process of completing, full FSA accreditation and/or Inspect and Test accreditation, meaning our clients can have complete confidence not only in the high standard of our work but in our compliance with all state laws, codes and standards.
